What is Lemonade for Love?
Lemonade for Love is a home-spun lemonade stand with a super sweet twist. The lemonade stand is a child-driven, parent-supported event. The organizers are children and youth that live in Toronto’s Etobicoke community.
Our goal is to build a sense of community and to encourage kids to help other kids. Money raised at our event is directed to organizations that support children, and their families, who are facing extraordinary circumstances.
This year’s Lemonade for Love is being held on Saturday, June 22nd from 9 am – 12 pm at Fairfield Park in Etobicoke.
We are all about #kidshelpingkids.

Kids Helping Kids
Lemonade for Love is a learning opportunity for children and youth. The kids can learn how to plan, communicate, and implement their ideas. They have an opportunity to make decisions, prioritize, and enjoy the act of brainstorming fun and creative ideas!
- Write blog posts about the event.
- Create invitations to the lemonade stand at our poster party and deliver them to their neighbours.
- Setting up the event.
- Picking up the garbage at the park.
- Working the raffle table.
- Presenting to their classmates and team mates on the merits of supporting the stand.
- Serving customers.
- Those 12+ chip in by leading on-site activities and helping with social media.
No matter what the role, they can take pride knowing that they are working as a community to help other kids.
How Lemonade for Love Works
Each May a community member offers up their front lawn for a Poster Party. The Poster Party is an opportunity for the kids to make their own lemonade stand invitation, work on posters, and create signage for the event. The Poster Party is an opportunity for each child (and parent!) to sign up for their delivery zones and lemonade stand volunteer jobs.
Our team photocopies and returns the child’s invitation to him/her. The child (with supervision) is in charge of delivering their invitations to the mailboxes of those in their community the week leading up to the event. Last year the kids delivered 2500 invitations!
Children are also encouraged to hand out an invite to their friends, classmates and team mates. Each child who volunteers for Lemonade for Love is encouraged to think of the stand as his/her own!
Those who have signed up for volunteer roles will be contacted leading up to the event. A job description will be emailed to them. On arrival, volunteers are expected to check-in at the volunteer table for their button and the details of their shift! These kids work hard and do so in the spirit of kids helping kids.
