NEWS & UPDATES
Hey everyone!! Make sure you’re available to stop by on Thursday May 23rd between 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm to make a poster for Lemonade for Love.
What is the poster party, exactly?!
It’s a tradition! Each child/youth is invited to make their own custom invitation to the lemonade stand.
They create a picture on-site and when they submit it, the Lemonade for Love team takes it, puts all of the important information on the back, and photocopies it. The posters are returned 1-2 weeks later.
When the child/youth receive their copies they are responsible for handing them out to friends, classmates, and neighbours. If they are volunteering at the stand they get to invite people to the stand. Lemonade for Love belongs to everyone. Simple!
The Poster Party is also a chance to sign up for volunteer jobs and poster delivery zones. It’s a great reason to get out out on your bikes or for a walk, and connect with the community.
We can’t wait to see you in a few weeks. If you have any questions, drop us a note in the comments.
We are just under the two-month mark until Lemonade for Love hits Fairfield Park! So many great things have been happening behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to share them with you! Our community never ceases to amaze us.
Lemonade for Love is a child-driven, parent-supported event. When you arrive at the stand, you’ll see that it is the kids who are doing the heavy lifting and the adults who are taking on more of an advisory role. 😉
This year we wanted to stay true to this approach and start engaging the older kids in different ways. We have created a trial “kids committee” with kids (aged 9-14 year) from local schools. Our goal was to have 1-2 students from each school involved.
To date the kids have been doing the following:
- Meeting with their principals and school staff to talk about Lemonade for Love
- Doing presentations for their local community groups, local businesses, and sports teams.
- Working together to create presentations for their school assemblies this spring.
- Going to local businesses to seek support for our raffle.
- Learning more about Silver Creek Pre School and why it is important to support other kids.
Tomorrow the kids’ committee will be attending Silver Creek Pre-School for a tour and to participate in their spring music circle. 🎶 We feel that it is important for the kids to know WHO they are supporting and WHY it is important to rally our community together!
We will share their adventures along the way.
We hope to create a program that we can expand to include even more kids! Having said that, if your child has attended or been involved with the lemonade stand in the past, and would like to be an ambassador for @lemonadeforlove, please reach out to us. We are happy to share the necessary materials! Everyone is welcome to get involved!
Kids (and adults) will be able to sign up for volunteer shifts in a few weeks. Volunteering for one shift, or a whole morning is a great way to get kids of all ages involved! 😉
Thank you for being here and thank you for your support! xo

We can say that right?! Lemonade for Love is Toronto’s favourite lemonade stand run by kids. Heck, let’s own it!
Mark your calendars for our sixth annual Lemonade for Love happening on Saturday June 22nd, 2019 from 9am – 12pm at Fairfield Park in Toronto’s west end. (Etobicoke)
About Lemonade for Love
We are thankful to live in a community that supports initiatives such as Lemonade for Love. The more we ask around, the more we realize how unique and special this is. Thank you.
Lemonade for Love started on our front yard in 2014. It moved to our friends front yard in 2015, and it eventually got too big for anyone’s front yard! So, we moved it to Fairfield Park. Fairfield Park is the absolute perfect fit.
We value volunteers
We are excited to welcome back our volunteers this year. [Quick fact It takes approximately 45 volunteers to help us run the stand the day of!] The best way to get involved as a volunteer is to attend our Poster Party which will be in the neighbourhood on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The poster party is an opportunity for kids to learn more about Lemonade for Love, create their own hand-drawn invitation to distribute to their friends, neighbours, and family, as well as sign up for delivery zones and volunteer jobs. We are 100% volunteer driven and rely on everyone’s willingness to pitch in!
We are trying a few new things this year.
We are trying a few new things this year with the stand. Many of the kids who started with Lemonade for Love in 2014 are growing up and are ready to take on bigger leadership roles when it comes to supporting the stand.
We are running a trial ‘kids committee’ to empower the kids with information about the stand, and to give them a voice on what they want to see come out of the stand. Their goal is to ensure that everyone thinks of Lemonade for Love as his/her own and that everyone feels welcome to join and participate with the stand. The committee is comprised of kids from each school in the community. It’s been an interesting process! We are sharing some behind the scenes of the kid’s committee on our Instagram and Facebook stories. We encourage you to keep an eye there to see how it is going. Once we fine=tune this process we’d like to involve even more kids in the process.
We support Silver Creek Pre School
Finally, we are pleased to have partnered with Silver Creek Pre School once again, and we look forward to supporting the #CaptainXavierFund. The fund was inspired by Xavier who is a boy that lives in our community. At a very young age, Xavier was diagnosed with Sandhoff Disease. He attended Silver Creek and his family was touched with the caring staff and the support they received. Xavier’s uncle started the fund and the money used helps pay for children’s tuition. We are passionate about supporting the school and the fund, and we thank the staff and families of Silver Creek for being such incredible event supporters.
And so, here we go again! If you are interested in helping out this year, please send a note to our firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in sponsoring the event this year, we invite you to review our sponsorship opportunities. Finally, please be sure to follow us on all of our social channels @lemonadeforlove for our updates.
Thank you! xo
