ABOUT LEMONADE FOR LOVE
Download our sponsorship package here.
Lemonade for Love is a child-driven, parent-supported event. The organizers are children and youth that live in the Central Etobicoke community. The goal of Lemonade for Love is simple – to build community and encourage kids to help other kids. The only requirement placed on the event is that it is about #kidshelpingkids.
2019 will mark our 6th Annual Lemonade for Love. It will be at Fairfield Park on Saturday, June 22nd from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. In 2018 the event attracted approximately 500 community members. This event acts as our communities unofficial kick off to the summer. To date, we have raised, and reinvested, just over $50,000 directly back into our community.
WHAT MAKES THIS EVENT SPECIAL
Lemonade for Love is a neighborhood event in the truest sense of the word. The children from the community are involved in both the marketing of the stand and its implementation.
Each May, the neighbourhood kids are invited to participate in a “Poster Making Party”. Each child is encouraged to handcraft their own poster and/or invite, and once copied, are encouraged to distribute them to their classmates, friends, and neighbours. Many teachers at the local schools invite the children to do a presentation to their class explaining the merits of attending the stand.
The kids sign-up for volunteer jobs, and whether their role is in garbage pick-up, running a craft, or serving up the sweet stuff, each child takes pride in the understanding that this is their event and that they are responsible for its success.
WHAT WE ARE RAISING MONEY FOR IN 2019
Money raised at this year’s stand will go to the #CaptainXavierFund at Silver Creek Pre-School. Silver Creek is an Etobicoke-based special needs school that services our community and has been a support to our friend, and neighborhood boy, Xavier.
The funds in this scholarship provide financial support to families with children with special needs, who otherwise would not be able to afford to send their child to Silver Creek. In 2017 we funded scholarships for five children. To learn more, click here.
WAYS TO CONNECT WITH YOUR COMMUNITY
Our goal is to work with local businesses that benefit from giving back and engaging with the community where they operate. We create a unique opportunity for businesses to connect on a personal level with those who live within their market. Please visit our sponsorship package for more information.
